Art Classes and Workshops for Adults (18+)

ArtzZone Studio provides a variety of art workshops and classes for beginners as well as those with years of art making experience. The studio is a spacious, stimulating, creative space where experimentation is encouraged. There is a dynamic exchange between workshop participants and instructors.

Acrylic and Mixed Media Painting

Weekly drop-in sessions with an instructor.

Share acrylic painting and mixed media techniques, colour theory and elements of design and composition. Some small group instruction along with ample time for individuals to work on their own paintings. Participants have a unique opportunity to interact with other artists and try new techniques and approaches to painting, to further develop their art making skills and progress in their personal painting process. The large open studio space encourages artists to create larger pieces.

Time: Monday afternoons 1:00pm - 3:00pm   or Thursday evenings  6:30pm - 8:30pm 
Fees: $15 per 2 hr session or $40 per 4 sessions (supplies not included)

Introduction to Encaustic Painting

Get creative with Encaustic painting, an incredibly fluid, easy to use medium! Learn about this ancient art form using modern tools and special coloured beeswax blocks. No previous drawing or painting experience is needed to create vibrant, colorful, card-sized paintings.

Advanced Encaustic Painting Techniques

Learn more advanced Encaustic painting techniques. Work with different types of support and tools. Explore the possibilities! This is a good follow up to the introductory workshop.

New Dimensions - Paintings With Texture

Learn how to make amazing textured surfaces for your paintings with a versatile, plaster-based product developed by Beverly Rein. You can easily create all sorts of textures and even imbed objects to make your signature pieces. You'll learn some specific techniques for altering and painting this unique surface. There's no end to the possibilities!

New Beginnings With Watercolours

In this workshop you'll be introduced to the wonderful world of watercolour painting. Learn techniques, colour theory and some rules for good composition. For beginners and those with some painting experience.

2. Download registration form in PDF format and print it out or pick up the form at the studio
3. Fill out the registration form and mail it along with payment to our address:

   or bring the filled out form in person to ArtzZone Studio office at the same address.
   We don't accept online payments at the moment.

Refund policy:

• If notice of withdrawal is given at least 2 weeks before course starting date, a full refund will be given.
• If the student gives notice of withdrawal after course has started there will be no refund.
• If student gives 1 week notice of an expected absence, the student can attend a makeup class provided that there is space available in a comparable class.
